ECN Forex Brokers
(No Dealing Desk + STP + ECN)
*To be able to compare commission rates, we list them all as "Commission per round turn (100K)",
But there are different ways of listing commission rates:
Example: $6.00 per round turn lot (100k) = $3.00 per side (100k) or $3.00 per 100K USD traded = $30.00 per million USD traded or $60.00 per million USD traded round turn = 0.006% of the trade

December 23, 2009i had opened an account with them (etoro). They said,"Etoro makes money on spreads ", "are interested to see their clients trading profitable"

December 23, 2009Market makers make money on spreads, that's exactly how they tell you about their dealing desk status.
Every broker wants their clients to have positive experience, but when it comes down to basics of doing business, a market maker becomes a counter-party to your trades.

December 25, 2009can someone recommend a broker that has fixed pricing all the time on the gbpjpy? I run a swing strategy and would like to be able to model exactly what I will be paying in costs. I'd rather pay higher all the time then not knowing what my costs would be. I'm talking about a broker that will execute all the time anytime at there fixed spread, does such an animal exist? And preferably one that I can send tradestation automation signals too.

December 26, 2009For a trader who asked about fixed spreads on GBPJPY, how about these two links:
http://www.100forexbrokers.com/fx/broker_search.php
http://www.100forexbrokers.com/compare-forex-brokers-spreads
it helped me in my search.

December 26, 2009Hi, Mr. BrokerGuru.
I'd like to ask you: how about ADM Derivatives Inc. ?
It looks like their site is lacking of information...
Would you recommend them ?

December 26, 2009Hi BG,
I read a couple of posting regarding FXopen, but you seem to be skirting round FXopen.
I have tried opening a Demo account with MB Trading and Forex.com, but I don't know why I am having such a hard time logging into their demo account provided. I've e-mailed them and out comes some more suggestions and then nothing. And I still cannot login to their Demo account, and have given up trying.
Now back to FXopen! I have no difficulty logging into their Demo account, but unfortunately it's off market days and so couldn't carry out any practices on their Demo account. However, I did went into their Forum section and got loads of info.
I am quite tempted to use FXopen as my first LIVE trading broker, and so would appreciate any advise from you (to whom I now place my absolute trust).
Thanks BG, and sorry if I have been a bloody Newbies pest; yah! : D

December 26, 2009Thank you everyone for your questions!
InstaForex broker says they are ECN: http://instaforex.com/about_us.php
I'll try to confirm what accounts are exactly ECN at InstaForex.
ADM Derivatives indeed offers not much info on the website, you have to contact them to find out more. Everything we were able to learn about ADMD can be found here: http://www.100forexbrokers.com/fx/compare_brokers.php
FXOpen is a competitive broker, at least by looking at their trading conditions. With the introduction of ECN MT4 they have send a strong message to trading audience as well as their competition. I'm not able to properly evaluate them since I haven't traded on their platform.
Another point, Rahman, I'm trying to provide facts and be unbiased no matter which broker it is, but even after that I know just a bit more than you, because I administrate this website and I saw how FXOpen representatives used to submit lots of 5 star reviews about themselves, which made the final rating totally irrelevant. I removed 11 reviews yesterday (only 7 left).
Unless we have more reviews from real traders, it'll be difficult to see the real face of FXOpen. I don't want to discourage you in any way, you asked why I'm skirting around FXOpen and I honestly replied you why.
If you give them a shot (which I think is totally OK taking into account their low deposit requirements and attractive trading conditions), I'd love to hear your feedback on them!

December 27, 2009Thanks BG for your (as close as possible) honest reply. I think I understand what you "trying" to say to me.
I am still trying to get onto MB Trading Demo platform, but their reply to my enquiries have largely been unsatisfactory. I will try to get into their Demo account one more time, soon as I have the time.
Thanks again BG, especially for your patience. I can only imagine what you must be going through in replying to so many questions in this blog which could easily have been answered if only the relevant parties go to the relevant subject matter. But then, as Newbies, patience is not one of our stronger points : D
Cheers!

December 29, 2009Hi BG
If a forex broker is a bank but business model is MM, how you think of it? seen ECN is recommend but bank look like have better confident of the fund.
Thank You!

December 29, 2009Banks are always going to be the safest choice. Even if it is a market maker, you'll be treated fairly every and each time. Your funds will be protected and there will be no troubles with withdrawals. You may even earn some interest on top.
These are the pros, the cons are that you'll be paying higher spreads. I haven't seen a bank yet that would offer really low competitive spreads in Forex.

December 30, 2009Hi BG,
I have already post a similar post in "Compare Forex Broker's Spread" on this.
I am still puzzle why a Market Maker like EasyForex can offer better ( 1 to 3 pips) spread than ECN & STP Brokers like Tadawul, MB Trading, and FXopen ?
I am referring to AUD/USD trading on 30-Dec-2009 at 1300hrs. (+8GMT).
All along my educational journey, I thought ECN & STP Brokers are supposed to offer better pips than Market Maker.
Any comment(s) on this??
Cheers!
Rahman S.
