ECN Forex Brokers
(No Dealing Desk + STP + ECN)
*To be able to compare commission rates, we list them all as "Commission per round turn (100K)",
But there are different ways of listing commission rates:
Example: $6.00 per round turn lot (100k) = $3.00 per side (100k) or $3.00 per 100K USD traded = $30.00 per million USD traded or $60.00 per million USD traded round turn = 0.006% of the trade

November 23, 2009Regarding Hupro FX,
"Client funds held with Hupro Ltd are maintained in separate Customer Funds accounts and may never be utilized for operating expenses or for other purposes or commingled with Hupro's operating capital.
Funds are withdrawn from these bank accounts only as a direct result of clients' trading activities or clients' request for withdrawal. In the unlikely event of Hupro's bankruptcy, client funds are legally protected and returned directly to the customer.
Furthermore, Hupro maintains a balance sheet with Net Capital in excess of minimum regulatory requirements. "

November 24, 2009Great article. Very well written with accurate information. Check out DivisaFX for a STP Broker that uses Currenex technology. Looks like they may also have the ability to integrate MT4 into their system.

November 25, 2009On the first look it appears that they provide only institutional services. I'll check their trading conditions in details in few days. Thank you.
Update: thank you, added them to the list.

November 27, 2009Hi BG,
Many thanks for the site, I've learnt a lot and hopefully made a good choice. I've chosen to use FXCM. I wanted ECN or STP and an FSA regulated broker to trade mini lots on a $5000 account. I can use MT4 or their platform which since I'll be trading manually they've advised their own platform will be quicker as it's more direct to their servers. They offer telephone brokering which I wanted in case of an emergency. Being UK based withdrawals are much cheaper than a US broker for me and take less time.
I've spent hours reading through this site and it's the been the best source for FX brokers info so thanks again.

November 29, 2009Hi BrokerGuru,
This is indeed an exceptional well informed site for forex trading.
After reading about 130 of the comments and answers in this forum, I can say that I have graduated from being a novice to an average informed Forex Trader.
May I suggest that you compile this section and offer it new or intending Forex Traders as a short cut to learning what they want to know about Forex before venturing into it? This Q & A forum really enlightened me, and I am very sure it will do the same for others just like me.
A very BIG thank you.
Sincerely,
Rahman S.

December 3, 2009Hello,
As you mentioned in your article ECN broker should not have fix spread and they are not commission free. But i checked InvestTechFX and they mentioned 1pip fix spread on major currency and commission free .
If they are real ECN?

December 4, 2009InvesttechFX is an STP, not an ECN.
STPs can have either fixed or variable spreads.

December 6, 2009You have InvesttechFX listed as an STP, but list them in the Brokers spread comparison as offering fixed spreads. I currently have an account with them and know that they offer fixed spreads. And, the way they operate feels like they are a DD. Aloha, Brenda

December 6, 2009Hi Brenda,
InvesttechFX positioned themselves as a STP broker with fixed spreads. That's normal. Regarding their execution and overall trading conditions, I don't have any experience with this broker to be able to comment.
