ECN Forex Brokers
(No Dealing Desk + STP + ECN)
*To be able to compare commission rates, we list them all as "Commission per round turn (100K)",
But there are different ways of listing commission rates:
Example: $6.00 per round turn lot (100k) = $3.00 per side (100k) or $3.00 per 100K USD traded = $30.00 per million USD traded or $60.00 per million USD traded round turn = 0.006% of the trade

August 14, 2009Interactive Brokers - regulated reputable broker, with highly competitive trading commission and fees (today you can read as "the lowest", tomorrow I don't know). What else can I add, IB is known to be very poor in customer support, so newbies stand no chance to be satisfied. Pro traders can bear with it, but only to the point when everything goes smooth and no need to contact customer support regarding any changes to your account, or settle trades over the phone (some traders may get no problems at all, while others could struggle to get any help). Overall - positive.
FX Clear is a Forex trading name for MF Global (http://www.mfglobalfxclear.com/).
FXA Securities – a wholly owned subsidiary of MF Global and a registered financial instruments business company in Japan.
(I'll add a profile for FXA Securities to our Search tool in few days, so you'll be able to check the conditions and requirements).
MF Global has positioned themselves among the leaders mainly in futures and options trading, while in spot Forex they offer services mainly to professional traders (min deposit requirement $50 000 - MF Global FX Clear). MF Global operates in 12 countries on more than 70 exchanges, which allows to provide professional access to the largest financial markets and offer one of the highest liquidity and volume levels in the industry. It is a fully regulated and transparent company, standing among the largest companies.
FXDD's registration process with NFA is pending for many months, or may be even close to a year now, I haven't checked. Either way, situation suggests it may take long time before this thing is completed. To find a non-NFA MT4 broker, try our Broker CyberSearch.

August 30, 2009Hi BG, I am indeed grateful for coming in contact with your website, because it has helped me to fully understand the differences between a DD,NDD,ECN&STP brokers. I wish to state that ECN brokers are the best to go for as the market makers are indirectly robbing traders of their hard earned money by counter-trading against them. Dear BG,kindly recommend me a good ECN broker to trade with that offer less than a $1000(may be $500) because persently,i trade with FxPro,Marketiva,Alpari&Finexo as they are all market makers. Thanks in anticipation of your swift response.God bless you Sir.

August 31, 2009Hi,
To trade with an ECN broker you have to go for a larger than average deposit.
The only broker today to meet your standards of being a "good broker with less than $1000 deposit"
is MB Trading (since 2001, NFA, CFTC +) **** ECN min deposit $400.

August 31, 2009Hi BG,
I've just looked IGMarkets's website and L2 Dealer is powered by currenex. What it's mean?
I think it similar to broco investor that use currenex bridge or maybe different?
Thanks & regards,
BrokerGuru
September 1, 2009It is a similar stuff. Should be good and fair in terms of trading execution and overall quality.

September 1, 2009I have a question about two brokers, NordFX (not Nord Markets) and Loyal Forex. What type of brokers are they -- market maker, STP, ECN?
BrokerGuru
September 1, 2009I don't know about these two. Let me a couple of days to check.

September 5, 2009Hello BiGi!
Thank you so much for your recs and the list of reputable brokers. It will definitely help out a lot. It has been awhile since I have visited your website. Sorry about that but finally got down to writing you my Big Thank You.
However, want to clarify a few points here. Below is the list that you mentioned with my comments. Could you please take a look and comment on that. I would be very grateful indeed.
1) Alpari UK (since 2004, FSA UK) **** newly introduced ECN trading - Alpari Direct Pro - Russian owned, no prejudice, but I am of Russian origin myself and there great chances that they might play very dirty games.
2)Dukascopy (since 1998, ARIF, KPMG +) **** ECN min deposit $50 000 - are you sure they service retail brokers? they told me that provide service only to institutional accounts.
3) GFT (since 1997, NFA, CFTC ++) **** ECN for Prime accounts $10 000 - had chat conversation with them and the staff member clearly wrote me that they are MM. Could you please double check on that?
4) HotSpot FX (since 2000, FSA UK) **** ECN min deposit $7,500 - are you sure they service retail brokers? they told me that provide service only to institutional accounts.
5) Interactive brokers (since 2004, NFA, CFTC +) **** ECN min deposit $10 000 - yes, this is one of the best.
6) MB Trading (since 2001, NFA, CFTC +) **** ECN min deposit $400 - not available for Canada
7) PFGBEST (since 1980, NFA, CFTC) **** ECN min deposit $10 000 - has quite a few complaints registered with NFA, no trust.
Many thanks,
Infinit
