Hi guys, I trade futures and have no experience with cash FX. What is considered to be scalping in FX?

In futures people call scalping anything from HF algo trading in milliseconds to manual traders holding up to 20 min...

Could you also double-confirm about FXOpen - if they are ECN why should they be bothered with timing?

Unless I am missing something here.

Scalping in Forex is about holding trading positions for a short period of time: usually under 1 minute or so, although the time isn't defined up to a second, but is rather a subject to each broker's trading policy.
Forex brokers who keep dealing desks (including FXOpen) aren't happy with scalpers, who by opening and closing positions quickly don't allow brokers to properly hedge their risks.
FxOpen offers ECN accounts, where scalping should be allow by the definition of ECN trading. For other accounts at FXOpen traders will have restrictions about the minimum position time.
